Camps for your 8-11 year old
Motor
Boats & Bottle Rockets
Ages 8 to 10 - 3 day - $95 ($85 members)
You’ll love this exciting 3 day camp! Explore circuits, then design and power up your own working motor boat. Experiment with dry ice and a layered chemical potion. Construct and launch a water bottle rocket that soars 50 feet straight up!

Treasure Chest
Ages 8 to 10 - 5 day - $155 ($145 members)
Build your own wooden treasure chest using real tools: drills, saws and hammers. Then wire it up with an electric burglar alarm to keep your treasure safe. Also, make a compass, play with codes and end the week with a treasure hunt.

Amusement Park Science
Ages 8 to 11 - 4 day - $125 ($115 members)
Design and build your own amusement park ride. Create a steady hand challenge, a marble game and other fun projects. Then master the forces of gravity and electricity as you invent and construct a unique, twirling, motorized amusement park ride. Show off your creations as you end the camp with a festive carnival!

Catapults,
Cars & ComputersAges 8 to 11 - 5 day - $155 ($145 members)
Use wood, wire, pulleys, motors and more to build your own motor powered car. Find out how far and how accurately you can fling a marshmallow with a wooden catapult you make yourself. Explore what’s inside of a computer and take apart a hard drive to discover how they work. End the camp with the egg drop challenge!

Discover!
Girls ages 8 to 12 - 4 days
Discover the fun of hands-on science and engineering in this new camp at The Works just for girls! Wire up a bouncing jitter bug, make floam and interesting chemical concoctions, take apart telephones and household machines, build skyscrapers and enjoy other creative projects. This camp for girls is offered thanks to the Engineering Information Foundation.
The full day session adds in time for lunch and outdoor explorations, plus building a real robot to take home.
July 8 - 11 full day: 9 am - 4 pm $190 ($180 members)
July 21 -24 half day: 9 am - 12 noon $95 ($85 members)
