Or call us at (952)848-4848 to register your child over the phone. *Registration is not guaranteed until payment is received.* Camps for your 9-12 year oldArchitecture Ages 9 to 12 - 5 day - $155 ($145 member) Explore architecture as you design and construct your own wood frame building, complete with lights, switches and even a doorbell or ceiling fan. Design your own city. Build and test a bridge made from raw pasta, hot glue and your imagination. Create towering structures and find out if they would survive an earthquake! June 23 - 27 -- 9 am - 12 noon July 28 - Aug. 1 -- 1 - 4 pm Extreme Green Ages 10 to 12 - 4 day - $125 ($115 member) Explore environmental engineering in this great hands-on camp. Experiment with fuel cells, wind turbines and hydrogen powered vehicles. Wire up simple and complex circuits using batteries, motors and solar cells to make your own solar powered car. June 30 - July 3 -- 9 am - 12 noon Aug. 18 - 21 -- 1 - 4 pm Design Challenge Ages 9 - 12 - 4 days - $250 ($240 member) NEW – Full Day Camp! This new camp combines fun building projects with open-ended design challenges. Campers will construct their own unique advanced motorized vehicle, including features such as: lights, a horn, or multiple speeds. Also, experiment with electrochemistry and bottle rockets. The final challenge: send a fragile egg safely into space and back. Campers will also try out a variety of engineering challenges including bridge making, catapult construction and a pet rescue mission.July 14 - 17 -- 9 am - 4 pm Aug 11 - 14 -- 9 am - 4 pm Lego Robotics Ages 9 to 12 - 5 day - $165 ($155 member) Design, build and program robotic creations using the awesome new Lego Mindstorms NXT system. Write computer programs to move your creations, sense their surroundings and complete missions. This exciting new camp is for girls and boys who have taken a Lego NXT class at The Works or elsewhere, or participated on a First Lego League team. Guided and encouraged by experienced mentors, programmers and robot builders, each camper will build and program a Lego NXT robot to tackle missions from past years’ Lego League competitions.
