The Governor’s MLK Youth STEM Expo

The Works Museum was invited to participate in the Governor’s MLK Youth STEM Expo on Friday, January 16. We were proud to be a part of such an inspiring day.

We partnered with the University of Minnesota’s Nanotechnology Center to give guests hands-on experiences with circuitry, guide them through the engineering design process to create their own bug bots, and then connect those ideas to real-world applications in microelectronics and chip manufacturing, highlighting the many careers and pathways in these fields.

We were also excited to collaborate alongside so many great organizations including Medtronic’s African Descent Network and our Interwoven partner, designer and muralist Adrian Lowe, in his role with the Council for Minnesotans of African Heritage. It was a great day of learning, connection, and community, and we were glad to attend and support this important work.
