We had a wonderful time celebrating STEM Day at the Fair with SciMathMN and volunteers from Xcel Energy.

Last week, we brought a little engineering to Unity in the Community with ring gliders! Families built their own gliders, then took them outside to see how they handled the breeze.

We’re grateful for another opportunity to spread our love for STEM, partnering with Emerson for their We Love STEM Family Day at their Shakopee location!

Our annual She Engineers event returns Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, we are hosting a breakfast before the event, which provides a special opportunity for families to meet and engage with engineering role models. Breakfast space is limited, so reserve your tickets today.

Reflecting on their own engineering journeys, volunteers from Boston Scientific shared with campers which "identi-bead," or engineering skill, is most needed in their current roles. Campers loved hearing their stories!

The Works Museum was excited to partner with Medtronic and other local nonprofits to bring hands-on engineering activities to nearly 400 kids at Medtronic HQ.

It's hard to believe we're already halfway through summer camp season at The Works Museum! Over the past several weeks, hundreds of young engineers have spent their summer designing, building, testing, and creating while exploring the exciting world of engineering through hands-on projects. 

On June 19th, 2026, we launched our Summer Family Workshop Series with our first session: Mini Hoops and Catapults. Join us for our next Family Workshop, Mini Claw Game, on July 17, 2026.

June has been a busy month for community outreach! We had an incredible time engineering with kids and families at Stone Arch Bridge Festival, as well as the Bloomington Juneteenth Celebration.

During our LEGO Engineering camp for girls, a group of women engineers shared their personal stories and career journeys, helping campers discover their own engineering superpowers and learn more about STEM career pathways.

Lately, as we step into the summer season, hands-on engineering is taking center stage through outreach at local community events, including the Great Big Jamboree in Bloomington and the Flint Hills Family Festival in St. Paul.

Last weekend, volunteers from the Hennepin County Department of Environment and Energy joined us at The Works Museum to lead a hands-on seed art activity with our visitors.

At The Works Museum, our mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and creative problem solvers. In our summer camps and programs, we teach kids that engineering is about much more than completing projects.

Robot Day is a family event celebrating all things robotics! Learn what goes into building, maintaining, and operating a robot with hands-on activities and demonstrations.
