Medtronic Kids Spark Day

We had a great time joining Medtronic Kids Spark Day on July 16!

The Works Museum was excited to partner with Medtronic and other local nonprofits to bring hands-on engineering activities to nearly 400 kids at Medtronic HQ.

Participants at The Works Museum’s stations explored the intersection of engineering and healthcare by creating rainbow diffraction glasses to learn about the science of light and optical technologies, and creating working models of human hands to discover how muscles, tendons, and joints work together. 

Families also learned about the exciting field of biomedical engineering through an activity featuring IF/THEN® Ambassador Dr. Ritu Raman, helping young people connect hands-on engineering with inspiring STEM role models and discover how engineers improve lives through healthcare innovation.

We are grateful to Medtronic for bringing together organizations that inspire curiosity, creativity, and connection, and for helping us introduce young learners to the possibilities of STEM careers.
